Meet the team: Terry McCarry, Estimator

We are happy to welcome Terry McCarry, who will be joining the Paramount Timber team as an Estimator.

In his role, Terry will receive project drawings and compare product measurements. He will work on planning the costs of a project, including its delivery and installation. Alongside sales and operations, he will ensure that all live and future projects are running as they should.

Terry joins our team with 10 years of professional experience in the construction industry behind him. The role of Estimator is an exciting new step, and with his years of expertise in roles such as quantity surveyor, Terry will have no problem adjusting and is keen to expand his skills.

We asked Terry a few questions about his experience, his goals and why he chose Paramount Timber.

How long have you been working in your field?

I have worked in the construction industry for 10 years. I previously worked as a quantity surveyor which is a job with some similarities as it is managing cost and based in the construction industry. The role of Estimator is new to me but with my previous knowledge I have been able to fit nicely into the new role and learn at a faster rate.

What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?

Professionally I am most passionate about my quality of work. I always strive to be accurate, detailed, and clear with all my work carried out. I also think this comes from my personal passion which is fitness and bodybuilding. I set myself goals and do everything in my power to reach said goals.

What’s the biggest proof that you’re good at what you do?

I would say the general work I produce daily and my attitude towards my work would be what my colleagues would say prove I am good at what I do. Always trying to not just meet my targets, but exceed them.

What attracted you to the Timber Frame industry?

The timber frame industry is fascinating, I love construction but the beauty of the speed in which timber frame buildings can be built is astonishing. Learning how these buildings could go up so fast is what attracted me initially.

What’s your biggest accomplishment?

My biggest accomplishment is that I can say I got to where I am today all by myself and I will continue to progress in my career using my own abilities to do so.

Who is your ideal client and why should they connect with you?

My ideal client would be anyone, I am confident enough to work with any type of client.

What attracted you to the role at Paramount Timber Group?

Without a doubt the opportunity to grow alongside a company that, after talking with the people working here, I believe will be a huge success and I felt I could only add to that success.
